Visual direction¶
New today? Start with First day (art). The art bible is now the baseline source for art-facing naming and production pipeline language; detailed asset cleanup still waits for art-lead approval.
This page records the current high-level direction so the wiki has an Art entry point without pretending that every production-ready art rule is final.
Current direction¶
- Geometric, fragmented shape language — the world should feel broken, reconstructed, and rule-driven.
- Humanistic traces of language — runes and ruins should imply a civilization, not abstract symbols alone.
- World emotion arc through light and color — lighting and palette should support the act structure: disorientation, interpretation, destruction.
- Minimal, symbolic characters — characters should read clearly at isometric scale and not compete with rune/environment readability.
Art bible baseline¶
The current art bible defines two pipeline tracks:
- Concept pipeline: reference/moodboard, thumbnail shape and composition exploration, review, detailed concept, approval for 3D production.
- 3D pipeline: production follows after approved concept work.
Baseline prefixes from the art bible: C_, SM_, SK_, M_, MI_, MF_, BP_, NS_, and DEC_. Use these for new art-facing assets. Do not bulk-rename existing art assets until the art lead approves the cleanup pass.
Needs art-owner input¶
- Final folder placement rules for production art assets after the initial
Content/Imports/cleanup. - Concept reference boards and approved palettes.
- Material and shader usage rules.
- Character silhouette and animation style.
- Environment kit rules for ruins, canyon spaces, and memory palace areas.
